Trenton (ND) Elementary School is seeking an Elementary Principal for the 2025-2026 school year and beyond. SUMMARY The Elementary Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership across all elementary grades. The Elementary Principal is responsible for long-term planning and day to day decision making, as well as collaborating and working closely with the administration team and teachers and community members to meet the educational needs and goals of the school district. ______________________________________________________________________ QUALIFICATIONS * North Dakota Teaching License and Elementary Principal Credential * Master&#8217;s Degree from an accredited college or university with Educational Leadership/Administration preparation * Prior experience handling student management and behavioral issues * Ability to communicate with community stakeholders effectively and appropriately * Excellent presentation and communication skills * Ability to foster a collaborative and positive working relationship with students, staff, and the school community * Experience working in an elementary school setting preferred ______________________________________________________________________ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Oversee the attendance, conduct, discipline, and health of students * Report all cases of truancy or persistent absences to the superintendent, and with the parents to work out a solution * Familiar with school rules and regulations and make sure they are enforced * Assist in the selection of staff in your building Personnel Management * Supervise the teachers (lesson plans, duties, final inventory, and reports) * Provide educational leadership through in-service training of teachers and sharing of ideas * At the close of each school year, he/she shall collect teachers&#8217; reports and file with the superintendent&#8217;s office. This includes inventory of books and equipment in each classroom. * Conduct one teacher evaluation for every teacher employed for less than four years by December 15th * Conduct one teacher evaluation for every teacher by March 15th Curriculum * Create teacher master schedule * Schedule of subject offerings within boundaries set by DPI and school board * Assist in selection of texts and other materials * Encourage experimentation in creative ways to improve the educational program * Write the Title I Consolidated Application and administer the program * Apply for and administer K-8 grants as appropriate Discipline * Ensure rules are meaningful and necessary and are understood by students * Assist teachers in maintaining classroom discipline * Submit student handbook changes to school board in advance of school term Building * Routinely check buildings, equipment and grounds for necessary repairs or improvements * Ensure that all federal program property is marked and inventoried * Maintain inventory of instructional materials, classroom equipment and furniture Miscellaneous * Build a positive rapport with patrons * Exhibit professionalism, including accountability, honesty, tactfulness, and courtesy * Maintain appropriate rapport with board, administration, staff and students * Comply with district policies applicable to position * Other duties as assigned by the superintendent * Supervise school events after school hours as needed ___________________________________________________________________ SALARY * Dependent upon experience and education level, the position has a minimum starting salary of approximately $85,000. * The Eight Mile Public School District funds the entire 11.75% employee contribution to TFFR, as well as the 12.75% employer contribution. * District provides full single health insurance * On campus housing available * Term of this contract is a full-time position working 40 hours/week for 212 contract days beginning July 1, 2025 ______________________________________________________________________ HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this position, an applicant&#8217;s file must be complete and must contain the following: 1.
