Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Provide classroom and behavioral supports for students through analyzing data to identify inappropriate behaviors, planning, implementing and tracking individual behavioral plans. 2. Identify barriers to successful transition and facilitate transition plans. 3. Assist IEP teams in problem-solving and creating plans to manage behaviors that affect a student&#8217;s learning. 4. Provide a comprehensive approach to behavior management that includes evaluation, data collection, interventions and regular monitoring to produce socially significant improvement in children&#8217;s behavior. 5. Collaborate with student support staff and paraprofessionals to support students with social emotional or behavioral matters. Tasks involved in fulfilling the above duty/responsibilities: Work Collaboratively with staff to: * Ensure that appropriate interventions and services are relevant to the needs, interests, and culture of students. * Create behavior interventions and track the effectiveness of implementation * Analyze behavior interventions to determine their success. * Provide tiered behavior intervention professional development. With a primary focus on factors that can affect learning, behavior management, and implementation of interventions. Measure effectiveness through data * Provide input on student shutting down, off-task behavior, difficulty disengaging with peers during class time, poor boundaries with peers or adults, inattentiveness, escape, avoidance, work refusal, emotion regulation. * Observe student in the classroom or across various settings to see behavior * Help in determining the purpose of behavior * Develop strategies for management and replacement behaviors * Help to frame behavior through a trauma lens to understand the behavior as a tool that makes sense for the student Education/Certification Requirements * Licensed Special Education Teacher, preferably in Emotional or Behavior Disorders (EBD). Other Special Education licensure will be considered. * Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed School Counselor, or Board Certification Behavior Analyst (BCBA). * Other degrees and licensure may be considered if the individual is skilled in behavioral analysis, functional assessment and crisis intervention See attached job description for full job details. Description
