Description: 1.0 FTE Director of Alternative & Online Learning, 8 hours a day for 260 Contract Days Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The Director of Alternative & Online Learning oversees all alternative and online education in the District, supporting the academic achievement of students in a manner that aligns with the District's mission. Monitor Academic Performance and Attendance for All Students * Works closely with the instructional team to identify students who require additional support through a rigorous multi-tiered system of support * Coordinate academic interventions to ensure academic success * Monitor student attendance and oversee truancy processes * Oversee all support team members and guide the range of interventions for attendance and academic success Oversee the Registration, Onboarding, and Orientation for New Enrollments * Manage the registration process and ensure a high level of customer service for new families * Hold team members accountable for the timely and accurate completion of each step of the registration process * Ensure new families are properly oriented to the program and oversee the implementation of early interventions when needed General Administration and Management * Advises Ex. Director on the overall direction of alternative and online learning programs and is accountable for end results affecting the District; * Provides administrative leadership and management oversight of the department; * Collaborates with Minnesota Department of Education staff and others on local, regional, and state initiatives; * Conducts meetings and participates in local, regional, and state meetings as necessary; * Present information items at Administration Meetings and Board Meetings as needed; * Collaborate with member district administration for the purpose of maintaining services and/or programs; Coordinate Hiring of Staff, Provide Supervision and Staff Development * Supervise licensed staff in program areas of responsibility; * Oversee hiring and evaluation of staff members for alternative education and social services; * Provides leadership to members in the area of alternative and online learning; * Upon request, attend or facilitate IEP meetings or other information sharing meetings; Coordinate Appropriate Student Services * Lead all planning, developing, implementing, and administering programs and services to meet identified needs, including modifying existing programs; * Oversee the determination of program plans and curriculum requirements for students, including developing program goals and objectives that align with the District's mission; * Prepare requests for new, improved, or expanded programs in relation to student needs; * Evaluate programs and curricula for the purpose of providing FAPE; Provide Legal Compliance and Monitoring * Support the IEP due process procedures, and compliance with State and Federal Rules; * Assist with federal, state, and local reporting requirements on special education programs; * Assist the Director in maintaining and completion of mandated reports and records, state reports and compliance indicators; * Monitor assigned programs for compliance with district and state curriculum and learning objectives; Other * Monitor program expenditures making sure they fit within their approved budgets; * Works collaboratively with agencies by participating in advisory committees and attending inter agency meetings. Description:
1.0 FTE Director of Alternative & Online Learning, 8 hours a day for 260 Contract Days

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Director of Alternative & Online Learning oversees all alternative and online education in the District, supporting the academic achievement of students in a manner that aligns with the District's mission.

Monitor Academic Performance and Attendance for All Students

  • Works closely with the instructional team to identify students who require additional support through a rigorous multi-tiered system of support
  • Coordinate academic interventions to ensure academic success
  • Monitor student attendance and oversee truancy processes
  • Oversee all support team members and guide the range of interventions for attendance and academic success
Oversee the Registration, Onboarding, and Orientation for New Enrollments
  • Manage the registration process and ensure a high level of customer service for new families
  • Hold team members accountable for the timely and accurate completion of each step of the registration process
  • Ensure new families are properly oriented to the program and oversee the implementation of early interventions when needed
General Administration and Management
