Job Title: Dean of Students & Activities Director About Us: Hancock Public School is a supportive and dynamic rural school community committed to academic excellence, character development, and well-rounded student experiences. Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to serve as PreK-12 Dean of Students and Activities Director. This dual role is central to supporting student discipline, engagement, and leadership, while overseeing and developing a strong, values-based athletic program. The ideal candidate is student-centered, highly organized, and a collaborative leader passionate about both student growth and athletic excellence. Key Responsibilities: Dean of Students Duties: * Foster a safe, respectful, and positive school climate. * Support student discipline through effective behavioral practices. * Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and families to support students&#8217; academic and social-emotional needs. * Lead initiatives that promote student leadership, attendance, and positive school culture. * Communicate/Collaborate with the principal and superintendent when necessary. Activities Director Duties: * Oversee all aspects of the high school athletic program, including scheduling, staffing, compliance, and facility management. * Recruit, support, and evaluate coaching staff; ensure adherence to school and state athletic policies. * Promote sportsmanship, academic eligibility, and student-athlete development. * Coordinate transportation, equipment, and supervision for athletic events. * Act as a liaison with the MSHSL and other schools. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree required; Master&#8217;s degree in Education, Leadership, or related field preferred. * Valid teaching or administrative license (or eligibility). * Minimum of 3 years of teaching or administrative experience; leadership and/or athletic administration experience strongly preferred. * Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. * Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families.
