Description: Candidate will be responsible for teaching the District Orchestra Curriculum and assessing student work; inventorying instruments and uniforms; and conducting the students at various concerts and events throughout the year. Qualifications: MN Teacher K-12 Instrumental Licensure Required. Qualified candidates will possess the following: The desire to work cooperatively with other staff members of the music department to continue building a dynamic program; preparation and commitment to working with diverse communities of learners; skill in providing for the individual learning needs of students; ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment; a high level of expertise in string pedagogy and familiarity with current teaching/learning theories; willingness to work with extracurricular activities; skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues; and a familiarity with a broad range of music. Preferred qualities include a diversity of experience and interests, as well as high school experience.
