Description:
Candidate will be responsible for teaching the District Orchestra Curriculum and assessing student work; inventorying instruments and uniforms; and conducting the students at various concerts and events throughout the year.
Qualifications:
MN Teacher K-12 Instrumental Licensure Required. Qualified candidates will possess the following: The desire to work cooperatively with other staff members of the music department to continue building a dynamic program; preparation and commitment to working with diverse communities of learners; skill in providing for the individual learning needs of students; ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment; a high level of expertise in string pedagogy and familiarity with current teaching/learning theories; willingness to work with extracurricular activities; skill in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with diverse groups of students, parents, and colleagues; and a familiarity with a broad range of music. Preferred qualities include a diversity of experience and interests, as well as high school experience.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work is performed in a school environment, using standard equipment and stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screens; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
