Job Summary:
Waubun-Ogema-White Earth District #435 is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Paraprofessional to support elementary student success. This position works closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members to provide meaningful educational support. Ideal candidates will have a strong belief in the potential of every student and a commitment to working collaboratively with youth and the community.

Key Responsibilities:
* Support individual students or small groups with materials and skills introduced by certified staff
* Monitor student work, correct papers, and oversee curriculum-based testing and makeup assignments
* Assist substitute teachers by serving as a key support resource in the absence of regular staff
* Observe and communicate student concerns, behaviors, or needs to staff as appropriate
* Supervise students during lunch, recess, and field trips
* Perform non-instructional duties, including snack, toileting, and clothing routines
* Maintain confidentiality and model ethical behavior
* Promote positive student behavior, safety, and respectful interactions
* Participate in meetings, training, and professional development
* Assist with instructional prep, including copying materials and setting up classroom displays
* Monitor and guide student behavior according to school rules and expectations
* Carry out additional duties as assigned by the school, principal, or designee

Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Ability to pass the paraprofessional proficiency exam within 3 months of hire
Preferred Experience:
* 1–2 years of experience working with diverse student populations in an educational or tutoring setting
Required Skills:
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff
* Reliable attendance and punctuality
* Patience, courtesy, and professionalism in interactions
* Familiarity with Google, Microsoft Office, and Synergy software (preferred)
* Ability to respond appropriately to behavioral situations and identify academic or emotional/social needs
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion
