Our Lady of Grace Catholic School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant / Break Staff to join our early childhood education team for the 2025–2026 school year. This position offers a unique opportunity to support both classroom learning and aftercare programming in a faith-filled, collaborative environment.
This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
From 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, this individual will serve as Break Staff, rotating through preschool classrooms to provide scheduled breaks for lead teachers. This role is essential to supporting classroom consistency and smooth daily operations.
From 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, the staff member will serve as an Assistant Teacher in our After Care program, helping supervise and engage children in meaningful, structured activities at the end of the school day.
Teaching Assistants at Our Lady of Grace work closely with our classroom teachers and leadership team to support the academic, social, and spiritual development of our students.
This position is ideal for:
* New teachers looking to gain experience alongside master teachers (many of our staff began as Teaching Assistants!)
* Adults who enjoy making a positive impact in children's lives with a consistent weekday schedule
* Retired teachers who enjoy the classroom environment with fewer planning responsibilities
* Individuals who feel called to share in children’s faith and educational formation
Qualifications:
* Must meet MN Rule 3 Assistant Teacher qualifications
* Positive, patient, and enthusiastic attitude
* Enjoyment in working with young children
* Able to be a credible witness to the Catholic faith
* Willing to complete a background check, Code of Conduct, and VIRTUS training
* CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment)
