The Wabasha-Kellogg School District is seeking a qualified American Indian Education Coordinator. Working primarily from their home office, the successful candidate will collaborate with district students, parents, and staff. Occasional travel within the state of Minnesota is required.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement appropriate and effective cultural and academic programs for American Indian learners, using American Indian Education Aid (AIEA)
* Collaborate with school administration, support staff, and community organizations across the state of Minnesota
* Partner with American Indian Parent Advisory Committee to create a well-balanced program across all of the areas of focus within the AIEA application program plan
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field
* Two years of professional experience in administration of public education support programs
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with Native American students and parents
The rural district has an outstanding and supportive culture and is located within the bluffs of the Mississippi River Valley. In 2023, the community supported a $16.2 million referendum for facility improvements. Construction on the renovations will begin in the summer of 2025.
Compensation for this position will be based upon qualifications and experience. All qualified individuals are encouraged to apply.
