Licensed School Social Worker Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Location: Oak Hill Montessori Community School &#8211; Shoreview, MN Reports To: Executive Director About Oak Hill Montessori Community School Rooted in a legacy spanning over 60 years, Oak Hill Montessori Community School (OHMCS) transitioned to a public charter school in 2021 to make an authentic Montessori education more accessible. We serve children ages 16 months through 8th grade, with our lower school operating as tuition-based and our upper school as tuition-free. Core Values * Independent thinking and self-reliance through purposeful work * Inclusivity and a sense of belonging for all * Compassion for others and for the environment * A vision for peace through social change Position Overview The School Social Worker will provide direct support to students, families, and staff while partnering with community resources to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. This role requires a deep understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and cultural competency. Key Responsibilities Student Support & Intervention * Provide direct social-emotional support and crisis counseling to students * Implement and monitor individual and group interventions, including social skills groups * Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and lead the development and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) * Serve as a key member of the crisis response team and assist in school-wide behavioral support systems (including PBIS) * Support students facing challenges such as family instability, homelessness, trauma, or attendance issues Collaboration & Consultation * Partner with teachers and staff to promote proactive classroom strategies and inclusive learning environments * Provide data-driven consultation and professional support related to classroom management and student behavior * Collaborate with special education staff and related service providers * Participate in the school's Response to Intervention (RTI) model and behavior management planning Family & Community Engagement * Serve as the school's designated liaison for homeless and foster care students * Build partnerships with community organizations and connect families with external services * Offer short-term consultation services and home visits to families needing support * Plan and lead school-wide programming related to parenting, engagement, and mental health awarenesess Qualifications Required: * Valid Minnesota license as a School Social Worker (or School Counselor or School Psychologist) * Strong leadership, consultation, and crisis intervention skills * Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff * Understanding of child development, mental health, and trauma-informed practices Preferred: * Experience in a Montessori or charter school setting * Familiarity with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) * Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and equity-focused support services Compensation & Benefits * Salary range: $50,000&#8211;$60,000 annually, commensurate with experience * Comprehensive benefits package, including: * Medical, dental, life, short-term, and long-term disability insurance (employer-paid) * 40% tuition remission for children enrolled at OHMCS * Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA) pension plan * Paid time off Application Process Interested applicants should email their application materials to: apply@ohmcs.org<mailto:apply@ohmcs.org> Required materials include: * Cover letter * Resume * Copy of a valid School Social Worker license * Unofficial transcripts * Three letters of recommendation Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
