Job Description: St. Paul City School is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and student-centered Social Studies teacher to join our high school team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about history, government, economics, and current events, while building skills in reading, writing, analysis, and civic engagement. Key Responsibilities: * Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned to state standards and school curriculum. * Teach a range of Social Studies courses, such as U.S. History, World History, Government, or Economics, based on school needs. * Use a variety of instructional strategies to support all learners, including English Language Learners and students with IEPs. * Establish clear learning goals and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments. * Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom culture that supports academic and personal growth. * Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment across grade levels and content areas. * Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom updates. * Participate in school events, professional development, and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education, History, Political Science, or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid state teaching certification in Social Studies or related subjects. * Experience teaching at the high school level is preferred. * Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. * Commitment to equity, high expectations, and culturally responsive teaching.
