POSITION DETAILS Grade: 5-8 Subject: Physical Education Start Date: 2025-2026 Full Time FTE: 1.0 POSITION SUMMARY STRIDE Academy is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Middle School Physical Education Teacher to join our team. This individual will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging PE lessons for students in grades 6&#8211;8 that promote physical fitness, skill development, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of all students. KEY DUTIES Develop and implement standards-based PE lessons aligned with Minnesota State Standards. Teach and assess fundamental motor skills, sports, fitness activities, and health-related concepts. Create a safe, respectful, and engaging classroom climate where all students are encouraged to participate and grow. Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility through physical activity. Monitor student progress, provide feedback, and maintain accurate records of performance and participation. Collaborate with fellow staff, parents, and administrators to support student development and school initiatives. Maintain equipment and ensure the gym/PE areas are safe and organized. Integrate wellness, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle education into lessons when appropriate. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in regular professional development, the school&#8217;s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers Any other assigned duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
