Pay Scale: Dependent on qualifications - $45,162 - $82,633

Interventionist Positions (Reading & Math)
Reports to: Building Principal
Position Type: Full-Time, School-Year
Location: Falls Elementary and/or Falls High School
Overview
ISD361 is seeking three dedicated Interventionists to support student achievement through targeted small-group instruction and collaboration with classroom teachers. These positions play a critical role in delivering Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports as part of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework. The available roles are:
- Reading Interventionist (Grades K–6)
- Math Interventionist (Grades K–6)
- Math Interventionist (Grades 7–12)
Applicants with a valid elementary teaching license are encouraged to apply. An out-of-field placement may be approved if needed
General Responsibilities (All Roles):
● Provide targeted small-group or individual instruction in reading or math aligned to core curriculum and student needs
● Use diagnostic and progress monitoring assessments to identify learning gaps and track student growth
● Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and instructional coaches to support classroom-based interventions
● Contribute to MTSS problem-solving teams and assist with intervention documentation
● Participate in data analysis meetings to adjust intervention strategies and groupings
● Communicate with families regarding student progress and support plans
● Assist in administering universal screeners and district benchmarks
● Maintain accurate instructional records and provide progress updates to staff and families
Position-Specific Duties:
Reading Interventionist (Grades K–6):
● Deliver small-group reading instruction using research-based programs (e.g., phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension)
● Support early literacy development in alignment with foundational reading standards
● Collaborate with teachers to build effective classroom reading supports
● Administer and interpret reading screeners (FastBridge)
Math Interventionist (Grades K–6):
● Provide targeted math instruction focused on number sense, operations, problem-solving, and foundational math skills
● Support classroom differentiation through modeling and co-teaching when appropriate
● Use data to form flexible student groups and guide instruction aligned to grade-level standards
Math Interventionist (Grades 7–12):
● Deliver small-group or individualized math instruction for students performing below grade level in core courses (e.g., Basic Skills, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry)
● Partner with math teachers to identify struggling students and co-develop instructional plans
● Use formative assessments to track skill gaps and provide targeted support aligned with high school standards
Support credit recovery, test prep, or math lab-based interventions as needed
Qualifications:
● Valid Minnesota elementary teaching license or eligibility for out-of-field placement
● Strong knowledge of content in reading and/or math appropriate to grade level
● Experience or training in intervention programs, MTSS, or small-group instruction (preferred)
● Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly
● Strong collaboration and communication skills
● Passion for promoting academic success
