PACT Charter School is seeking a Fall Drama Coach for the 2025-2026 school year.
Location: PACT Charter School, 7729 - 161st Ave NW, Ramsey, MN
Compensation: Stipend for the Fall Season will be $1750.00
Summary: The PACT Charter School Fall Drama Coach plays a crucial role in fostering a dynamic and enriching environment for students interested in the performing arts. The Fall Drama Coach collaborates with faculty, students, and administration to develop and implement comprehensive drama programs, productions, and curriculum that align with educational goals and standards. This role requires a deep passion for theater, strong leadership skills, and the ability to inspire creativity and excellence in both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive drama curriculum that engages students and fosters their skills in acting, stagecraft, and theatrical production techniques. Ensure alignment with educational standards and objectives.
* Production Management: Oversee all aspects of theatrical productions, including selecting plays, coordinating auditions, managing rehearsals, organizing technical crews, overseeing set design, and developing program budgets, costumes and props.
* Faculty Supervision: Provide guidance and support to drama department faculty, including teachers, directors, and technical staff. Foster professional development opportunities and facilitate collaboration among department members.
* Student Development: Create a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and fosters their passion for theater. Mentor students in developing their acting and production skills, as well as their leadership abilities.
* Budget Management: Develop and manage the drama department budget, including allocating funds for productions, equipment, supplies, and professional development opportunities.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other departments, school administration, and community partners to enhance the visibility and impact of the drama department. Coordinate with other arts programs to facilitate interdisciplinary projects and events.
* Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations for drama department faculty and staff, providing constructive feedback and support for professional growth.
* Outreach and Promotion: Promote the drama department within the school community and beyond through marketing initiatives, public performances, and participation in local theater events and competitions
Qualifications:
* Proven knowledge and experience necessary to coach the activity
* Good communication skills – Weekly emails to families required in season
* Demonstrated organizational skills - Head coaching license/certificate or meet the MSHSL requirements to be a head coach
* Experience developing and implementing a budget
* Experience in leading a production
Preferred Experience:
* Demonstrated ability to organize and supervise a theater production
* Previous head coaching experience and substantial knowledge base in assigned activity
* Proven ability to work with middle school & high school-aged students modeling positive character and responsible behavior
* Commitment to continuous improvement
* Fundraising and/or public speaking
* Confidence teaching the assigned activity
