This role ensures the school maintains fiscal integrity and adheres to all applicable laws and regulations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Financial Management: * In collaboration with the Creative Planning Team and school leadership, develop and manage the annual budget. * Monitor expenditures and prepare monthly financial statements and forecasts. * Ensure timely payroll processing and accounts payable/receivable functions. * Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and other financial stakeholders. * Support a fundraising strategy plan * Prepare financial reports for the Board, authorizers, and funders. Compliance and Reporting * Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ESSA, Title funds, Special Education funding). * Submit required reports to charter authorizers, state education agencies, and grant funders. * Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audits and public transparency. Operations and Facilities: * Oversee contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement policies. * Support facilities management, including maintenance, leases, and capital improvements. * Manage inventory and purchasing systems for school supplies and equipment. Human Resources: * Oversee onboarding, benefits administration, and employee records. * Ensure compliance with labor laws, school policies, and HR best practices. * Support staff payroll, timekeeping, and benefits enrollment processes. * First point of contact for staff HR issues. Leadership and Collaboration: * Serve as a strategic partner to the school&#8217;s leadership team on business and operational planning. * Provide training and support to staff on budgeting and compliance procedures. * Contribute to long-term planning for school sustainability and growth. * Attend the financial committee meeting and board meetings when applicable. * Support with reporting to MDE and the authorizer. * Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the School Director. Required Qualifications: * Experience or AA degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. * 3+ years of experience in business/operations management, preferably in a school or nonprofit setting. * Strong financial acumen and experience with budgets, audits, and financial reporting. * Understanding of public school funding and charter school compliance requirements.
