Community of Peace Academy is an urban public charter school located on the East Side of St. Paul, Minnesota serving nearly 850 students in grades PreK to 12. We are seeking a K-5 Physical Education Teacher to join our team.
The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license in K-12 Physical Education. DAPE licensure preferred, not required.
Responsibilities and Skills Required:
* Have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Academic Standards for K-5 Physical Education
* Possess the ability to develop rapport with young learners of diverse backgrounds
* Work cooperatively with individuals and teams
* Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication with staff, students, and parents
* ?Demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance
DAPE licensure preferred, not required:
The developmental adapted physical education teacher will be stepping into a team environment daily, where collaboration, communication, and adaptability are key to the success of the individual, the team, and the success of the students. The teacher role is performed following District policy and State/Federal Laws.
* Instruct students, using adapted physical education techniques, to improve physical fitness, gross motor skills, perceptual motor skills, participation, and/or sports and motor achievement.
* Develops and adapts physical education requirements according to students' varying needs and abilities.
* Researches, assesses, and implements modifications to physical activities.
* Licensed in Developmental/Adapted Physical Education (PreK-12).
