Job: Cook 5.5hrs/day at Fridley High School
Job Summary:
Child Nutrition Professionals who take pride in serving all customers freshly made nutritious meals. Team members work together to prepare and serve daily menu options to students and staff. Looking for a positive attitude, attention to detail, willingness to learn new skills, team orientated, and enjoys working with students. This position will prepare daily cold entrees, serve customers, complete daily cleaning tasks, and support daily production needs. This position requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work with team members. Position requires team members to adhere to Minnesota Deaprtment of Education, Minneosta Food Code, and Fridley Public Schools policies.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepares, assembles, and serves assigned menu items to students, staff, and guests. This can include but not limited to cutting fruits and vegetables, preparing snacks, and prearing breakfast.
2. Operates kitchen equipment such as but not limited to Robo Coupe, Sectionizer, warmers, cooler, dishwasher and three-compatment sink.
3. Utilizes kitchenware but not limited to knives, spatulas, curring boards, whisks tongs, spoons, spoodles and dishers.
4. Responsible for daily cleaning and sanitizing tasks including by not limited to washing dishes, operating dishwasher, using the threecompartment sink, sanitizing work stations, breaking down boxes, and serving lines between lunch periods.
5. Responsible for completing daily production records for assigned prepared daily menu as assiged by the school cook manager.
6. Maintains positive customer relationships with students, staff, team members and guests.
7. Setting up and merchandise the serving lines with the correct utensils, trays,napkins, silverware and menu items, Follows proper portioning techniques.
8. Serves assigned items to customer and operating point of sale stations as assigned by the cook manager and based on daily department needs.
9. Replenishes food items including fruit, vegetables, cold entree or hot items during and between meal services.
Qualifications:
1. HS diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous food service experience
3. Ability to take direction of supervisor.
4. Ability to multitask, prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent customer service stills
6. Preferred MN Food Manager Certification or ServSafe certification. Must be Serv Safe certified within 1 year of employment
7. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
Salary and Schedule -5.5 hours per day M-F; Per nutritional services master agreement.
