POSITION: Transportation Coordinator
TYPE OF POSITION:
10 Month Hourly (+15 additional days outside 10 month hourly payroll calendar to support transportation and back to school planning)
REPORTS TO:
Supervisor of Transportation
Pay Range: $26 - $32/hour (Dependent on qualifications and experience)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
* Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree with significant related work experience
* Previous experience with bus routing, electronic mapping, and/or student information systems
Preferred
* Active Class B CDL Minnesota Drivers License
* Routing and mapping experience
* Bilingual experience, Spanish or Somali
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
* Assists the Supervisor to ensure district, state, and federal requirements are met and that proper records are maintained
* Supports the collection of video footage from contractors and shares video with necessary internal partners (e.g. Principals)
* Coordinates the training and re-training program for all district employed bus drivers, including training of prospective drivers and special education bus assistants
* Supports bus drivers with the implementation of PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) strategies and practices on busses
* Coordinates, plans, and organizes annual bus evacuation drills
* Support coordination of extracurricular travel for teams/groups, assigning drivers and vehicles
* Provides customer service to parents and school staff regarding transportation of new students or students moving into District 742
* Responds to parent concerns and administrative concerns
* Solves issues such as overcrowding on busses or balancing loads to meet bell schedules
* Reviews bus stop requests and process approved or defined requests
* Assists with emergencies and route adjustments due to accidents, weather, breakdowns, or school schedules
* Data entry and interfacing with student data and transportation information systems
* Develops and assists with professional development opportunities for all members of the Transportation team
* Assists with special projects to analyze changes in bell schedules and school zone attendance boundaries
* Serves as a substitute/backup driver as needed
* Other duties as assigned
