Position Summary:
The Communication Arts Instructor is responsible for providing engaging and rigorous instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking. This role supports students in developing strong literacy and communication skills that prepare them for post-secondary education, careers, and responsible citizenship in a diverse and changing world.

Essential Duties:
The Communication Arts Instructor will design and deliver curriculum that promotes reading comprehension, literary analysis, written expression, and effective communication across multiple contexts. The instructor will foster a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, collaboration, and a lifelong appreciation for literature and language.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to Minnesota state standards in English Language Arts.
* Teach a range of communication arts skills, including literature study, composition, grammar, public speaking, and media literacy.
* Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners and provide interventions as needed.
* Assess and monitor student progress through formal and informal measures and communicate results to students and families.
* Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
* Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and support staff to enhance curriculum and instruction.
* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
* A bachelor’s degree in English, Communication Arts, or a related field from an accredited institution.
* Applicants must have or be eligible to obtain a Minnesota teaching license in Communication Arts/English.
* Preference may be given to applicants with experience teaching at multiple grade levels or who hold multiple licensures.
* Alternative pathways, such as tiered licensure or an Out-of-Field Permission, may be available for individuals who do not meet all traditional requirements but wish to teach Communication Arts in Minnesota.
