Gateway STEM Academy Location: Saint Paul, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2025&#8211;2026 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K&#8211;8 charter school in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a passionate and innovative K&#8211;8 STEM Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, hands-on STEM instruction through Project Lead The Way (PLTW), integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into meaningful, real-world learning opportunities. Training and support will be provided for PLTW implementation. This role requires collaboration with classroom teachers, support of school-wide STEM initiatives, and a commitment to culturally responsive and student-centered instruction. ________________________________ Key Responsibilities * Teach engaging, standards-aligned Project Lead The Way (PLTW) modules for students in grades K&#8211;8. * Integrate STEM practices into core instruction through collaboration with classroom teachers. * Foster a classroom and school-wide culture of inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving. * Incorporate project-based learning, engineering design challenges, and technology tools to deepen student learning. * Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure equitable access to STEM opportunities. * Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction. * Connect STEM learning to real-world applications, career pathways, and cross-disciplinary themes. * Communicate regularly with families about student progress and ways to support STEM learning at home. * Participate in professional development, including PLTW training (provided by the school), as well as school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement. ________________________________ Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Education, STEM-related field, or a closely related discipline (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license (elementary or middle-level, with strong STEM background). * Experience teaching or leading STEM instruction in K&#8211;8 settings (preferred, but not required). * Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. * Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students. * Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction and leveraging student data to inform practice. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, students, and families. ________________________________ What We Offer * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Project Lead The Way (PLTW) training and certification provided. * Opportunities for professional development and career growth. * A collaborative, innovative work environment dedicated to student success. * Supportive leadership and a strong sense of community. ________________________________ About Gateway STEM Academy Gateway STEM Academy is a dynamic K&#8211;8 charter school committed to preparing students for success in STEM fields and beyond.
