Gateway STEM Academy Location: Saint Paul, MN Type: Full-Time School Year: 2025&#8211;2026 Position Summary Gateway STEM Academy, a K&#8211;8 charter school in Saint Paul, MN, is seeking a passionate and dedicated K&#8211;8 Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, standards-aligned physical education instruction that promotes fitness, teamwork, healthy lifestyles, and social-emotional development for all students. This role requires collaboration with classroom teachers, support of school-wide wellness initiatives, and a commitment to culturally responsive and student-centered instruction. Key Responsibilities * Teach engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for students in grades K&#8211;8. * Promote physical fitness, health, and wellness through a variety of sports, games, and movement activities. * Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and social-emotional growth in a positive and inclusive environment. * Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students. * Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments and use data to guide instruction. * Collaborate with colleagues to integrate wellness and physical activity into the school culture. * Communicate regularly with families about student progress and ways to support health and fitness at home. * Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives to support continuous improvement. Qualifications * Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Physical Education, Education, or a related field (Master&#8217;s degree preferred). * Valid Minnesota teaching license in K&#8211;12 Physical Education. * Experience teaching or coaching physical education in K&#8211;8 settings (preferred, but not required). * Demonstrated commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. * Strong classroom management skills and ability to build positive relationships with students. * Knowledge of fitness, health education, and child development. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
