Compensation: The starting salary for this position is $33,094 per year (Late August-May; Monday-Thursday 7:00am-3:00pm, Friday 7:00am-12:00pm)
Program Overview:
Twin Lakes STEM Academy is a STEM school and the Child Care Program is included in that focus. The Child Care focuses on 4-5 year old readiness for kindergarten by teaching basic academic skills, fine motor skills, and self-help skills. There is strong emphasis on social emotional learning and students are encouraged to explore, problem solve, and work together as they learn and grow.
Qualifications:
- Degree or certification in Pre-Primary, Early Childhood, or similar field preferred.
- Experience in a Day Care/Child Care or similar setting.
- CPR/First Aid Certified (or willing to be certified upon hire).
- Experience with Multilingual Learners.
- Experience with Responsive Classroom preferred.
Job Description:
- Create developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities for children 3-5 years of age to help prepare them for Kindergarten.
- Integrate STEM curriculum into daily activities.
- Communicate with families on a daily basis.
- Implement positive behavior management.
- Create a safe, engaging environment to teach social and emotional skills.
- Help children with daily life skills such as toileting and meal times.
- Participate with the elementary school when developmentally appropriate, including family nights and other after school events.
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach for objects, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and use hands to grasp and feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally being required to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
