Genesis Classical Academy is currently seeking an Art Teacher to join in supporting our vision of educating and preparing tomorrow’s leaders and citizens. We are accepting applications for .5 to 1.0 FTE Art Educator for the 2025-2026 school year, beginning in the Fall. This position may be combined with other related teaching responsibilities (see additional positions posted on this website.)

Genesis Classical Academy is a Classical, Christian, and interdenominational school for grades PreK to 12th, in the southern Minnesota community of Winnebago. The mission of Genesis Classical Academy is to provide Christ centered classical education emphasizing Godly character. Job Summary and Requirements
We are looking for trained educators with the following qualifications and characteristics:
· Bachelor’s degree in art is preferred yet not required.
· Understanding and agreement with Classical Christian Education.
· Knowledge of a variety of artistic styles & mediums, with emphasis on classical styles and artists.
Experience
· Two years of teaching experience preferred; however, those with artistic knowledge and the gift of educating will be considered.
· Has demonstrated the ability to teach effectively and manage a classroom proficiently.
· Exhibits a strong understanding of classical art and methodology.
Teaching Responsibilities:
· 2 full days of classroom teaching per week, with the potential for full time by combining with other open positions.
· Effectively handle classroom management and involve administration in discipline plans while following school discipline guidelines
· Produce teaching plans
· Communicate effectively with students, peers, parents and administrators
· Organize an annual Art show
· Effectively follow grading protocols and update grades on JMC within timelines
· Contribute to a positive working environment for colleagues and families
· Routinely implement classical education strategies and methodology in the classroom. (Training in classical education methods will be provided)
· Participate in training and meetings as required by administration
· Communicate a clear understanding of biblical principles and worldview
· Demonstrate maturity of Christian character
