Title:  Area Learning Center (ALC) Teacher

Position Type: Teacher (1.0 FTE)

Location:  Zumbro Education District Area Learning Center (ALC) 

Workday/Year:  7:30-3:30 M-F; 186 day contract

Starting Date:  ASAP

About Zumbro Education District: ZED is an education district serving six member districts that include  Byron, Blooming Prairie, Hayfield, Kasson-Mantorville, Stewartville, and Triton.  ZED offers a wide array of general education and special education services to our member districts (please refer to www.zumbroed.org for details). The ALC serves at-risk students in grades 6-12. ZED has been in existence for over 30 years and is located in Kasson (MN) which is 16 miles away from the city of Rochester (MN). 

Job Summary:  The ZED Area Learning Center is seeking relationship focused, creative and innovative teachers to join our team for the 24-25 school year.  ALC teachers prioritizes relationships first while delivering academic programming in various content areas; develop and deliver curricular content based on state and local standards; communicate and collaborate regularly with multiple stakeholders; implement whole group, small group, and differentiated instruction with a focus on personalized learning; embed social-emotional learning, various technologies and a variety of pedagogical approaches into daily activities; establish effective classroom systems with a focus on restorative and trauma informed practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Minnesota Teaching License (multiple license areas will be considered)

• Proficient in multiple technologies which support student learning 

• Ability to cultivate a creative, flexible and positive learning environment through relationship building, effective classroom management and instruction, innovative teaching techniques, and strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience teaching at-risk students

• Specialist license/certificate (Reading/READ Act training, CTE/WBL, SPED, Driver’s Ed, etc.)

• Experience with MnMTSS and/or tiered interventions
