Title: Title I Teacher and Instructional Coach, Full Time

Reports to: Principal

Essential Qualifications

·       Valid Minnesota teaching license in elementary education

·       Keen expertise in pedagogical best practices

·       Ability to provide standards-based, data-driven instruction

·       Enthusiasm for working with all students

·       Growth mindset

·       Excellent interpersonal skills with both adults and students

·       Demonstrated creativity, flexibility, and patience

·       Team-player with the ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues

·       Demonstrated excellence in organizational and communication skills

·       Understanding and belief in LIFE Prep’s unique mission, vision, values, and approach to education

Desirable Qualifications:

·       Experience teaching in an urban elementary school

·       Experience collaborating with students, families, and the diverse communities our school serves

·       Track record of success serving youth with significant developmental risk factors

·       Experience with professional learning communities

Essential Job Functions:

·       Developing and implementing the structures, processes, and practices of a Title I program at LIFE Prep

·       Cultivating strong, positive, caring relationships with students and colleagues

·       Teaching in a variety of settings and roles

·       Deep knowledge of resources, materials, and relevant technology for use and integration into a Title I program

·       Managing small group activities and behaviors effectively

·       Collaborating with other teachers in professional learning communities and other professional development activities

·       Communicating with teachers and families about student progress

·       Recording, reporting and evaluating student academic data for the purpose of school improvement plans

·       Screen students to establish proper literacy placement

·       Acts as a resource to regular classroom teachers in the areas of best practice

·       Assist in the selection of district textbooks

·       Supports teachers with the implementation of standards

·       Facilitates professional learning opportunities as directed by the principal

·       Participates in student intervention meetings

·       Perform all other duties assigned by the principal

 

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must have the ability to stand, walk ,and sit frequently or for prolonged periods of time.
