About the Position

Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial (LCWM) School District is seeking a dedicated Licensed School Nurse (LSN) to join our team. The School Nurse plays a crucial role in promoting and protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all students and staff. This position supports academic success by providing direct health services, managing student health needs, and fostering a healthy school environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide direct health services to students and staff, including medication administration, emergency response, and first aid.
• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, growth and development) and maintain accurate student health records in compliance with state requirements.
• Assess health needs, develop individual care plans, and initiate appropriate referrals to parents, school personnel, and community health resources.
• Participate on child study teams; interpret health factors pertinent to student disabilities and assist with IEP development.
• Promote communicable disease control through immunization programs and early detection and reporting.
• Collaborate with families, staff, healthcare providers, and community agencies to support student well-being.
• Provide health education to students, staff, and families; deliver in-service training on health-related topics.
• Supervise health paraprofessionals and LPN staff involved in school health programs.
• Maintain statistical health data for reporting to MDH and MDE.
• Promote staff wellness and serve as a health resource throughout the district.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota (required).
• Current Licensed School Nurse (LSN) certification in Minnesota or eligibility to obtain.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification preferred.
• Experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Employment Details
Salary: Based on experience and placement on the approved Teacher Contract salary schedule.
Schedule: Follows the approved LCWM School District calendar.
Benefits: Health, Life, LTD insurance, 403(b) match, and paid time off.
Travel: May be required between district buildings and to professional meetings.
Environment: Standard office and school settings.
