ISD #316 Greenway Public Schools is hiring a Janitor Class 3 for our Early Childhood Education Center in Marble. This is a part time position with hours being Monday- Friday 2:00 pm - 6:30pm.
JANITOR-CLASS 3 [BASE UNIT: NON-INSTRUCTIONAL]
General Definition of Work
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Performs daily and periodic cleaning. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the maintenance supervisor and the building principal.
Essential Functions
The following functions are intended on{y as illustrations of the various types of work pe1formed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them if the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.Sweeps, strips, buffs, waxes or dust mops assigned areas; cleans carpet. Removes trash from buildings.
Scrubs and cleans toilets including mirrors, wash basins, urinals, commodes, etc.; fills tissue, towel and soap dispensers.
Dusts furniture, walls, windowsills, and other woodwork; cleans windows.
Clean desks and classroom spaces
Sanitizes and cleans drinking fountains.
Cleans up spills and sanitizes areas following incidents involving bodily injuries. Ensures outside entrances are securely locked.
Picks up and delivers supplies and trash to and from all school district facilities.
Assist in snow removal as required
Assist in setting up gymnasium, auditorium and lunchroom equipment as assigned.
Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; ability to read; thoroughness, cleanliness; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates. General knowledge of district facilities.Qualifications
1. Valid Minnesota Driver''s license.2. Special Boiler Operator’s license
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED.Physical Requirements
This work requires the regular exe1iion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exe1iion of up to 70 pounds of force; worker is frequently walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel and pushing or pulling and occasionally requires standing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, lifting and repetitive motions; work requires depth perception, color perception and peripheral vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires use of measuring devices, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to fumes or airborne particles, exposure to vibration and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment, such as a respirator.Special Requirements
