The full-time Social Studies Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in their content area. The teacher fosters a supportive and structured learning environment where all students are challenged, engaged, and held to high academic and behavioral expectations in alignment with the school’s mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Design and deliver daily lessons aligned to state standards, school curriculum, and charter goals.

·         Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English language learners and students with IEPs/504s.

·         Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative methods; track and analyze data to inform instruction.

·         Maintain strong classroom management that fosters respect, responsibility, and high achievement.

·         Build meaningful relationships with students to encourage engagement, persistence, and character development.

·         Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, achievements, and areas of growth.

·         Collaborate with colleagues, instructional coaches, and school leadership to refine teaching practices.

·         Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

·         Uphold the school’s culture, mission, and high expectations for student achievement and behavior.

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant subject area required; master’s degree preferred.

·         Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility) in assigned subject area.

·         Strong content knowledge and passion for teaching subject matter.

·         Prior successful teaching experience preferred.

·         Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

·         Commitment to continuous growth and willingness to implement feedback.
