Position:    C Squad Baseball Coach
License:       Preferred teaching/coaching license

 

Season: March 16, 2026 – Mid/Late May

Overview:
Rockford Area Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic C-Squad Baseball Coach to lead and develop student-athletes in grades 8-10. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, growth-oriented environment where players can build fundamental skills, teamwork, and a love for the game.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to student-athletes.

  • Collaborate with the Activities Director and other coaches to establish goals and direction for the baseball program.

  • Prioritize the health, safety, and welfare of every participant.

  • Develop players’ fundamental skills while ensuring an enjoyable and inclusive team experience.

  • Assist with organizing daily practices and weekly game schedules.

  • Supervise student-athletes on buses for away games and in locker rooms before/after practices and games.

  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff to promote engagement and accountability.

Schedule:

  • Practices: After school, approximately 3:15-5:15 p.m.

  • Games: Typically begin at 4:15 p.m., with occasional doubleheaders.

Qualifications:

  • Coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

  • Passion for baseball and youth development.

Compensation:
Per district coaching stipend schedule.
