Full-Time Short-Call Substitute Agriculture Teacher

Position Summary

Albany Area Schools is seeking a Full-Time Short-Call Substitute Agriculture Teacher to provide classroom coverage at both the middle and high school levels. Under the direction of the building principal, this position delivers district-approved curriculum using lesson plans provided by the teacher of record, manages classroom activities, and supports student learning. The role includes collaboration with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs and maintain a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver district-approved curriculum and instruction based on provided lesson plans.
• Manage the classroom environment, including attendance, grading, and student behavior.
• Support student learning through a variety of instructional methods and technology.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress and communicate with staff and parents as needed.
• Provide leadership and guidance to paraprofessionals assisting in the classroom.
• Stay current with instructional practices and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Short-Call Substitute Teaching License [or better] required.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• Minnesota teaching certification and licensure in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Prior teaching experience or experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to engage students through interactive and effective instructional strategies.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and engage positively with the school community.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school environment.

Employment Details

• Ongoing, at-will employment.
• Position follows the regular school calendar.
• Work hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.
