Hayfield Community Schools is seeking a highly qualified and collaborative Special Education Coordinator / 6–12 Interventionist Lead for the 2026–2027 school year and beyond. This leadership position supports the delivery of high-quality special education services and coordinated intervention programming for students in grades 6–12.
Position Summary
The Special Education Coordinator is responsible for facilitating special education services across the district and serves as the primary liaison between Hayfield Community Schools and the Zumbro Education District (ZED). In the role of Interventionist Lead, the coordinator will oversee and collaborate with teachers providing academic interventions, ensuring alignment with district goals and best instructional practices.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate district-wide special education services
- Serve as the special education liaison with Zumbro Education District (ZED)
- Support compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Oversee and collaborate with 6–12 intervention teachers to plan, implement, and monitor intervention services
- Provide instructional leadership and guidance to staff supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, service providers, and families to support student success
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a licensed special education role
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education required
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative leadership skills
