Description/Requirements:
Rockford Area Schools is currently accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Middle School 8th Grade Science Teacher.   Courses include 5 sections of 8th grade science and 1 - 30 minute Boost/Advisory time. 
This long-term substitute position will be responsible for all aspects of teaching in a middle school Science classroom including, but not limited to, planning, preparation, lesson execution, and managing classroom routines/resources.

In Minnesota, 8th grade science focuses primarily on physical science, helping students understand matter, energy, forces, and interactions through hands-on investigation and problem-solving. Students analyze chemical reactions, energy transfer, and forces and motion while applying scientific practices such as modeling, data analysis, and evidence-based reasoning. Throughout the year, students are also expected to connect science concepts to real-world phenomena, engineering design, and environmental applications aligned with Minnesota’s adapted science standards.  

Qualifications: Current, valid Minnesota teaching license required. Experience teaching Science is preferred.
