Walker Hackensack Akeley High School is seeking a long-term substitute 6th grade teacher. Applicants must be licensed to teach in the state of Minnesota.

Responsible for instructing students utilizing the MN State Standards. Creating lesson plans that engage and challenge students, administer praise and constructive feedback, and guide students through foundational learning they will need to be successful in the next grade level.

• Develop a positive educational culture and climate for students.

• Provide an environment that is enthusiastic about learning.

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging instruction based on standards.

• Create instructional resources for use in the classroom.

• Create formative assessments and design instruction for students based on data.

• Utilize curricula that reflects diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.

• Use technology throughout the learning environment.

• Evaluate assignments, measure student growth and maintain grades.

• Develop professional relationships with colleagues and other agencies.

• Create communication paths with families.

• Manage all aspects of classroom management and individual student behavior.
