Salary Range: $48,266-$82,145 Per Master Contract and experience

Position Summary:
Medford Public Schools is seeking a student-centered, collaborative Special Education Teacher to support elementary students, primarily in grades K–2 and preschool. This position serves students with a range of needs, including Specific Learning Disabilities and early learning needs. We are committed to building a supportive team environment and will consider candidates with varied licensure backgrounds or those actively working toward licensure.
Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Teacher at Medford Public Schools, you have the opportunity to empower students with diverse academic and behavioral needs and are familiar with MTSS and data-based decision-making. Responsibilities include providing specially designed instruction aligned to student IEPs across a variety of settings, developing and implementing IEPs with ongoing progress monitoring, and using data to adjust instruction and supports. The role requires consistent collaboration with general education staff, related service providers, and families; active participation in evaluation and IEP team processes; and timely completion of due process paperwork, all while maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements. This position is supported by a team-based approach that includes coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities. You will share your expertise with paraprofessionals who provide support aligned to student needs. A small-district environment fosters strong relationships and communication, and helps make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of your students and the broader community.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in ECSE and SLD or ABS
- Enrollment in an approved licensure program with the ability to obtain appropriate licensure
- Strong interest in working with preschool and elementary students
- Commitment to collaboration and continuous learning
