ROLE OBJECTIVES
The Middle School Technology Teacher provides engaging, standards-aligned instruction that equips students with essential digital literacy, computer science, and technology application skills. This educator fosters creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and responsible digital citizenship while preparing students to effectively use technology as a tool for learning and problem-solving.
The Technology Teacher collaborates with colleagues to integrate technology across content areas and supports a positive, innovative school culture.
KEY DUTIES
Develop and deliver engaging lessons in digital literacy, computer science fundamentals, and technology applications aligned to state and school standards.
Teach topics such as keyboarding, coding, computational thinking, multimedia creation, digital research, and online safety.
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of middle school learners.
Incorporate project-based learning and real-world applications of technology.
Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Teach responsible and ethical technology use, including digital footprint awareness, online safety, and media literacy.
Promote positive digital communication and collaboration practices.
Ensure compliance with school policies regarding technology use.
Collaborate with teachers to support technology integration across content areas.
Provide guidance and support for digital tools and instructional technology platforms.
Participate in professional learning communities and school improvement efforts.
Establish a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
Maintain classroom equipment and ensure responsible use of devices and materials.
Model professionalism, organization, and effective classroom management.
Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with families.
Participate in professional development to remain current in educational technology trends.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in regular professional development, the school’s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction.
Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture.
Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities.
Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers
Any other assigned duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Educational Qualifications: BA
Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION
Salary Range: Starting salary of $43,000 or higher based on experience
