Implementing Data Driven Decisions Having High Expectations Creating a safe Social-Emotional Learning Environment Job Summary The Read Act Literacy Lead will provide coordination, collaboration, strategies, and instruction, to ensure each teacher or other support staff receives the training necessary to the implementation of the Read Act. Responsibilities Literacy Specialist- must support the district''s implementation of the Read Act; provide support to school based coaches; support the implementation of structured literacy, interventions, curriculum delivery, and teacher training; assist with the development of personal learning plans. Provide training and on-going support to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals for reading instruction. Participate in collaborative literacy instructional planning and teaching Actively participate in team meetings Value teaching in diverse cultural settings Is a forward, solutions-based thinker Provide feedback to teachers and administrators on the school?s reading/literacy program. Perform other duties, as assigned. Qualifications Master?s in Reading/Literacy Instruction preferred or as a special education teacher, or a kindergarten through grade 6 teacher, who has successful completion of the MDE approved professional development. Job Summary

The Read Act Literacy Lead  will provide coordination, collaboration, strategies, and instruction, to ensure each teacher or other support staff  receives the training necessary  to the  implementation of the Read Act.  


Responsibilities

  • Literacy Specialist- must support the district''s implementation of the Read Act; provide support to school based coaches; support the implementation of structured literacy, interventions, curriculum delivery, and teacher training; assist with the development of personal learning plans.

  • Provide training and on-going support to classroom teachers and paraprofessionals for reading instruction.

  • Participate in collaborative literacy instructional planning and teaching

  • Actively participate in team meetings 

  • Value teaching in diverse cultural settings

  • Is a forward, solutions-based thinker

  • Provide feedback to teachers and administrators on the school’s reading/literacy program.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Master’s in Reading/Literacy Instruction preferred or as a  special education teacher, or a kindergarten through grade 6 teacher, who has successful completion of the MDE approved professional development.

  • A valid Minnesota teaching license applicable to the position and/or valid Reading license (preferred)

  • At least 3 years experience teaching reading and/or literacy preferred

  • Experience working with a diverse school population, specifically Hmong, preferred
