ELEMENTARY ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHER 1.0 FTE [GRADES 5-6] Minneota Public Schools is seeking applications for a full-time elementary English Language Arts Teacher. POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the Elementary School Principal, the successful candidate will provide high-quality English Language Arts instruction to students in grades 5?6. This role focuses on developing students? reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills while fostering a lifelong appreciation for literacy and communication. The teacher will design and deliver standards-aligned instruction, monitor student progress, differentiate to meet diverse learning needs, and contribute to a collaborative school culture dedicated to academic excellence. ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT Minneota is located in Southwest Minnesota, approximately 12 miles northwest of Marshall. We are a PreK-12 building with stable enrollment of approximately 595 students. Our community is extremely supportive of our students and our school and takes pride in everyone?s achievements. QUALIFICATIONS · Must possess a valid teaching license in the State of Minnesota. · Experience is preferred but not required. · Knowledge of structured literacy practices and the Science of Reading. · Passionate about working with upper elementary-age students. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS · Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards. · Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. · Integrate reading, writing, speaking, grammar, and listening activities to build comprehensive language skills. · Collaborate with other teachers and administrators to align curriculum and improve instructional practices. · Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administration, parents, students, teachers, support staff, and community members and follow through in a timely manner. · Foster a positive school culture that promotes an environment of responsibility and respect. · Identify and support students with learning differences or additional needs. · Encourage student participation, self-expression, and confidence in language use. · Bring a positive energy to our team. SALARY AND BENEFITS A salary range of $50,050 to $77,909 per year, which will be negotiated based up on the successful candidate?s education and experience. A competitive benefits package is also available to the successful candidate.
