Special Education Teacher ALMA SCHOOL DISTRICT Date of Posting: March 23, 2026 Closing of Posting: Until filled Length of Contract: 2026-2027 School Year as per Teacher?s Master Agreement Full Time Equivalent: 1.0 FTE The Alma School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cross Categorical Special Education teacher to join our team. This position focuses on providing instructional and behavioral support for students with a variety of exceptionalities, including emotional and behavioral disorders, intellectual disabilities, and learning disabilities. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), particularly with behavioral goals and interventions. Qualifications & Responsibilities: Valid teaching license in Special Education issued by the WI Department of Education. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) with measurable academic and behavioral goals. Maintain 100% compliance with IDEA, Wisconsin state law, and district policies regarding evaluation timelines and trimester progress reports Systematically monitor student progress using formal tools; analyze data weekly to make informed changes and supports. Facilitate Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and implement Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with fidelity. Understand state standards in the core curriculum areas and be able to modify and support students across all curricular areas. Deliver high-intensity, research-based interventions in small group or 1-on-1 settings, specifically targeting significant gaps in academic and functional skills. Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with students, parents, district staff and community members.
