Position: Summer Group Leader - Adventure Connection
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shift times vary between 6:15 am- 6:00 pm
Start Date: Monday, June 11, 2026
Pay: $23.14 per hour
Benefits: This position is not eligible for benefits.
Summary: The Summer Group Leader will assist in the development and implementation of school-age childcare programming for children in grades K – 8 by providing supervised activities that address the physical, social, mental, and emotional needs of participants. Additionally, the Group Leader will serve as a resource and provide work direction and guidance to other Adventure Connection and Epic school-age care staff members.
Required Qualifications:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to become certified in First Aid and CPR
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective stress management skills applicable to the guidance and monitoring of children with special needs, including the ability to intervene appropriately in a crisis situation
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate''s or Bachelor''s Degree in education, recreation, or related field
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of appropriate activities and environment for school-age children
- Serve as a resource to and provide work direction/guidance to other OST staff members
- Communicate and maintain good working relationships with school personnel, the Site Manager, staff, parents, students, and the public.
- Help participants with inclusion needs to positively adapt to the program
- Set up program space, including pushing/pulling cabinets with toys and activities, and ensuring that these materials are accessible to participants
- Supervise, lead, and participate in arts and crafts, games, gym/outdoor activities, and field trips
- Work with all program participants as appropriate
- Assist with toileting as necessary and as required by IEP
- Assist in maintaining program records.
- Prepare and serve snacks
- Complete light clean-up, including wiping down tables and sweeping/mopping small areas
- Understand and follow all District and Adventure Connection policies and guidelines
- Participate in all site and program meetings and trainings as required
- Other duties as assigned
May be regularly required to walk throughout a building and may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance or push up to 90 pounds, and must be able to restrain students with proper training and assistance when needed, and may be required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
