District Information
St. Francis Area Schools is located in northern Anoka County and southern Isanti County. We are a rural/suburban district, covering 165 square miles with our early childhood center, three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one ALC. Our school district annually educates more than 4,000 students and employs more than 750 staff members.

Qualifications
Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Special Education.
Minimum 5+ years of effective special education teaching experience.
Demonstrates expertise in:
Evidence -based special education instruction
Intervention design implementation
Classroom management and behavior supports
SpEd Forms
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coaching or mentoring adult learners
Experience supporting Tier 1, Tier 2, or out-of-field teachers
Strong skills in modeling instruction and providing feedback
Deep understanding of instructional decision-making in special education settings
Summary of Duties
- Provide in-class coaching for Tier 1, Tier 2, out-of-field, and Year 1 teachers
- Model effective special education instruction in real classroom settings
- Coach teachers on:
- Universal, targeted, and intensive interventions
- Progress monitoring and instructional decision-making
- Support teachers in developing confidence with instructional responsiveness
- Coach teachers on aligning:
- Daily instruction with IEP goals
- Service minutes with meaningful instruction
- Progress monitoring with instructional planning
- Provide targeted support for:
- Out-of-field teachers transitioning into special education
- Teachers unfamiliar with specialized instructional settings
- Ensure instruction reflects what is written in the IEP
- Coach teachers on:
- Writing goals that are instructionally usable
- Collecting data during instruction
- Embedding compliance requirements into daily teaching
- Reduce procedural errors through proactive coaching
Contract Days/Hours
The duty day is Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
186 contract days per year (includes professional development time).
Salary
Based on the current Teacher Work Agreement, we will negotiate based on qualifications/years of experience.
Range of $48,166 - $89,645
