Position Overview:
Saint Francis Elementary School is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered educator to join our 5th-grade teaching team. This is a departmentalized teaching position in which the candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Math, Science, and Social Studies. The successful candidate will work in partnership with another 5th-grade teacher who teaches English Language Arts, Writing, and Word Study rotating groups of students throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with district curriculum and state standards in Math, Science, and Social Studies.
- Collaborate daily with the partner 5th-grade teacher to ensure cohesive instruction across subjects and classes.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all learners.
- Use formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction and provide targeted interventions.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes high expectations and student growth.
- Integrate technology effectively into instruction and learning activities.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with families regarding student progress and classroom updates.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, school committees, and other school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Education
- Valid state teaching license/certification for Elementary Education (Grade 5).
- Strong content knowledge in Math, Science, and Social Studies.
- Demonstrated success in planning and delivering engaging instruction to upper elementary students.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a departmentalized elementary school setting.
- Familiarity with standards-based grading, formative assessment strategies, and data-driven instruction.
- Training or experience with hands-on science and inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Comfort with integrating instructional technology such as Google Workspace, interactive whiteboards, and digital learning tools.
Salary:
Salary will be based on the district''s certified salary schedule in the Teachers Work Agreement, $48,166 - $89,645.
