The Technology Integration Specialist (TIS) team supports both school site teams and district teams in reimaging school from the ground up. This team will lead the work of ensuring technology is fully integrated in learning experiences and ensuring our technology investment works in service to our student learning goals and outcomes. Special Services Programming Role Overview : The Special Services Technology Integration Specialist is an educator-leader who partners with special education and support teams to ensure equitable access to technology and assistive tools that drive student success, wellness, and inclusive learning. This role serves as an instructional partner, job-embedded learning designer and a coach of technology-enabled pedagogy. They balance direct support for classrooms and students with systemwide leadership, fostering accessibility, compliance, and inclusive innovation across the district. Key Responsibilities : 1. Special Services Partnership, Support & Invested Parties Engagement Partner with special services and support staff to implement high-leverage technology strategies that advance student success, wellness, and individualized learning outcomes. Co-design and model technology-supported, concept-based inquiry and transdisciplinary learning environments in alignment with the Hopkins Learning Framework to support 504, IEP, and special services goals. Provide "in-the-moment" technology support for students and staff during instruction, including digital resource familiarization, troubleshooting, and solutioning. Collaborate directly with special services teachers and staff to support students and caregivers in maximizing district 1:1 devices to support equitable access and support accommodations and modifications. Support implementation of high leverage UDL principles to reduce barriers for student access. 2. Departmental/Systemwide Collaboration & Resource Alignment Support special services teams in troubleshooting technology barriers impacting student learning to increase equitable access to education. Collaborate with department and site leadership on technology integration goals aligned to broader service area priorities. Work across instructional areas and sites to increase visibility and adoption of accessibility tools and assistive technologies for all students. Collaborate with Technology Integration Specialists, Digital Learning Specialists (DLS), Instructional Design & Learning (IDL), and Information Services teams on system-level accessibility initiatives. 3. Leadership, Compliance & Ecosystem Development Serve as a district leader to forge and support new accessibility and assistive technology integration ecosystems. Maintain current knowledge of accessibility legislation and ensure systemwide compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices. Support strategic planning for special populations to align developmentally appropriate Tier 1 resources with programs. Support districtwide resource creation, curation, and sharing to strengthen inclusive technology practices and accessibility awareness across schools. Assignment Information:

  1. The Technology Integration Specialist directly reports to the:
    1. Learning Design Futurist (Assistant Director of Innovation, Design and Learning)
    2. Director of Technology and Information Services
  2. Distribution of FTE: 80% school site(s) and 20% coordinated district resource
  3. The Technology Integration Specialist partners with site leadership initiatives and designated school site(s) communities in service to District strategic plans.
  4. The Technology Integration Specialist serves as a partner and liaison to the:
    1. Innovation, Design and Learning Team
    2. Information Services Department
    3. School site(s) leadership teams, including BILT
    4. Data Specialist Team
    5. Digital Literacy Specialist (DLS) Team
    6. Instructional and Peer Coaching Teams
