This hybrid role combines instructional coaching with classroom teaching, allowing the individual to model high-quality, standards-aligned literacy instruction while building teacher capacity across the system. The position emphasizes instructional practices, using evidence-based strategies to guide coaching, professional learning, and classroom implementation. Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools is committed to: - A culture of high quality and effective instruction - Partnerships and collaboration - Student and staff well-being - High student achievement - Stewardship of resources - Equitable education Primary Responsibilities: - Coach for instructional excellence - Provide job-embedded coaching (co-plan, model, observe, and provide feedback) - Support teachers in implementing: - Clear learning goals and success criteria aligned to standards - Evidence-based literacy instruction across content areas - Student discourse, writing from sources, and critical thinking - Ongoing monitoring of student learning - Support consistent instructional practices across the district - Support the onboarding and mentoring of new teachers in our school district - ELA Teaching (modeling high-quality instruction) - Teach assigned high school ELA courses - Curriculum & standards alignment - Ensure literacy instruction is tightly aligned to Minnesota ELA standards - Support teachers in: - Maintaining rigor and coherence across courses and grade levels - Promote a guaranteed and viable curriculum - Use data to drive instruction - Use multiple data sources (screeners, diagnostics, classroom assessments, state data) - Support teams in data-informed instructional practices - Professional learning & collaboration - Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to district literacy priorities - Collaborate with teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators - Support implementation of MnMTSS with a strong Tier 1 focus Outstanding candidates will have: - Knowledgeable in variety of research-based instructional practices - Knowledgeable in effective MTSS practices - Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills - Thoughtful and deliberate decision-makers - Creative problem solvers with extraordinary relationship skills - Innovative and able to develop, promote and implement quality programs - Motivating and positive with students, staff, and parents/guardians - Comfortable with and able to promote the effective use of technology as a tool for teaching and learning - Able to provide leadership within the school, district and community - Life-long learners and good role models Required Qualifications: - Valid Minnesota teaching license in English Language Arts or relevant experience and willingness to seek a license with special permission from PELSB - Bachelor''s Degree in relevant subject area - Minimum 5-years of successful teaching experience - Strong knowledge of adolescent literacy and evidence-based practices - Deep understanding of standards alignment and rigorous instruction Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with coaching, teacher leadership, or mentoring - Experience teaching high school students Contract: 1.0 FTE, 182 contract days plus 5 extra days for a total of 187 days beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Salary and Benefits: Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
