Shattuck St. Mary?s, an independent college preparatory boarding/day school (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a Theater teacher starting in August 2026. We are a global community defined by engagement, openness, and persistence. Through immersive learning and our signature programs, we empower students to shape and accelerate their goals, grow as individuals, and lead with integrity. Candidates will be comfortable instructing in an innovative educational environment, familiar with technology in the classroom, and open to blended teaching. Shattuck St. Mary?s School is seeking a dynamic educator with a passion for youth theater to join our faculty. As the theater teacher, they will teach all levels of theater from Middle School to Advanced levels. This teacher will also spearhead all theatrical pursuits at Shattuck St. Mary?s School, directing two productions per year. We are seeking an individual who will work collaboratively with members of the Performing and Visual Arts Department to encourage development and growth and to support the work and performances of the department. Shattuck St. Mary?s is a boarding/day school and faculty members are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting. In addition, full-time teachers serve as advisors to a group of students. Shattuck St. Mary?s teacher salaries are based on experience and range from $39,000 for beginning teachers to the mid-70s for our most experienced faculty members. In addition to cash salaries, SSM teachers are eligible to receive generous benefits including family housing and meals on campus. QUALIFICATIONS: This individual should be qualified and able to teach all levels of Theater and have experience directing and producing theatrical performances with students. Candidates must be willing and able to teach in another discipline (e.g., English) if Theater courses are under-enrolled. Candidates should have at least 2-4 years? experience teaching; however, we will consider first-year teaching candidates. Bachelor?s Degree in relevant field; Master?s Degree or relevant coursework preferred.
