The Superintendent will work collaboratively with the School Board, administrators, teachers, staff, students, families, and community partners to support student success and ensure effective district operations. This position is responsible for implementing board policies, overseeing educational programs and services, managing district personnel and resources, and promoting a positive learning environment for all students. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Serve as the chief executive officer of the district and provide leadership aligned with the district''s mission, vision, and goals. Implement and administer School Board policies and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Provide leadership and direction to district administrators, principals, and staff. Oversee curriculum, instruction, and assessment to promote high-quality educational programming and student achievement. Develop and monitor the district budget; ensure responsible fiscal management and long-range financial planning. Oversee hiring, supervision, and evaluation of district personnel in collaboration with building administrators. Support professional development and foster a positive, collaborative work environment. Communicate effectively with the School Board, staff, students, families, and community members. Serve as the district''s primary spokesperson and build strong community partnerships. Oversee district operations, including facilities, transportation, food service, technology, and student services. Ensure accurate reporting to the Minnesota Department of Education and compliance with state and federal requirements. Lead strategic planning efforts and support continuous district improvement. Attend School Board meetings and provide recommendations, reports, and updates. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all students and staff. Perform additional duties as assigned by the School Board. Job Requirements: Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and support staff while fostering a collaborative culture. Strategic Thinking: Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate district goals and initiatives. Financial Management: Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and resource allocation. Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, families, and community partners. Problem Solving: Ability to analyze issues, make informed decisions, and resolve conflicts effectively. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills. Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Technology Skills: Proficiency with standard office software and educational technology systems. Adaptability: Ability to respond to changing district needs and priorities. Supervision of Other Employees: The Superintendent supervises district administrators and provides overall leadership and direction for all district employees. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master''s degree required; Specialist or Doctoral degree. Valid Minnesota Superintendent License (or ability to obtain). Experience: Administrative leadership experience required. Prior experience as a principal, district administrator, or similar leadership role preferred. Experience in school finance, personnel management, and curriculum leadership preferred.
