Director of Facilities, Safety and Grounds
Eden Prairie School District is seeking a strategic and collaborative leader to oversee the planning, management, and improvement of district facilities, grounds, and safety systems. This role leads the long-term planning and execution of capital projects, facility operations, and safety programs that support more than 9,000 students and 1,600 staff across our district.
We welcome candidates from a variety of professional backgrounds, including engineering, facilities management, municipal infrastructure, or large-scale project management. Prior school district experience is not required. If you have successfully led complex projects, including managing budgets, coordinating contractors, navigating regulations, and working with multiple stakeholders, your skills and experience will translate well to the work involved here.
Position Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor''s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible leadership experience in facilities operations or capital project management.
Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant professional experience required, including extensive experience managing operational and capital budgets.
- Experience working with the following:
- boilers
- construction
- government compliance programs
- facilities and grounds maintenance
- air quality issues
- Candidates do not need prior school district or education sector experience to be successful in this role.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) safety compliance programs, workers compensation legislation, and IAQ (indoor air quality) management programs
- Knowledge of engineering and maintenance legislative requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communicative skills.
- Experienced consensus-builder and ability to work with all partners.
- Demonstrated organizational and management skills.
- Excellent supervisory and decision making skills.

Salary and Benefit Package*
| Salary/year | $141,049 - $146,049 based on experience and qualifications (AST Level I) |
| Vacation | 25 days a year |
| Holidays | 12 paid holidays each year |
| Life Insurance | Life insurance fully paid by the employer for an amount equal to twice the employee''s annual salary |
| Long Term Disability Insurance | Long term disability fully paid by the employer. |
| Medical/Hospitalization | Medical/hospitalization insurance available per AST agreement District contribution up to $1,494 per month for family coverage |
| Dental Insurance | Dental insurance is fully paid by the employer for family coverage |
| Sick Leave | 14 days per year cumulative to 254 days |
| Tuition Reimbursement | 50% tuition for up to 9 credits per fiscal year for pre-approved coursework |
