SUMMARY OF POSITION Three Rivers Montessori is seeking a creative and passionate Art/Media Teacher to inspire students across our elementary program. In this role, you will foster self-expression, creativity, and visual literacy through hands-on art experiences and media exploration. You will also play an important role in supporting students'' digital literacy by guiding them in the responsible use of school Chromebooks and educational technology platforms. You will collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate art and digital learning meaningfully across the curriculum, honoring the Montessori philosophy of child-led, discovery-based learning. We work to cultivate a culture where we all learn and grow together.
JOB DUTIES
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate art and media instruction for students in Grades K–6
- Introduce students to a variety of artistic mediums, techniques, and tools including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital media
- Guide students in accessing and using school Chromebooks responsibly and independently
- Support students in navigating digital learning platforms that reinforce reading and math skills, serving as a structured and productive part of their learning time
- Integrate art and media concepts across subject areas in collaboration with classroom teachers
- Maintain and organize art supplies, materials, and classroom/studio space
- Display and celebrate student artwork throughout the school community
- Assess student growth and development in creative skills, artistic thinking, and digital literacy
- Provide an honest, respectful, caring, and safe environment for all students
- Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Three Rivers Montessori
QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Minnesota teaching licensure in Art Education
- Experience teaching visual arts and/or media arts to elementary-aged students
- Proficiency across a range of artistic mediums and familiarity with digital media tools
- Comfort with educational technology, including Chromebooks and digital learning platforms
- Strong creative vision paired with the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of teachers and staff
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
- Interest in or familiarity with Montessori philosophy (preferred but not required)
