1.0 FTE Media Specialist and Reading Interventionist

Description:

Nevis School District is a two-section school in Northern Minnesota.  We strive to help all students reach their potential.  We have a new teacher-mentoring program to provide support for new teachers.  We encourage teachers to use the School Forest, be creative, and bring your passion and expertise to the classroom.  There are opportunities for extracurricular and coaching positions if interested.

The Nevis Public School District is seeking to fill a 1.0 FTE Media Specialist and Reading Interventionist position.  Preference will be given to candidates who are licensed Media Specialists and/or Grades 7-12 English teachers with a strong reading background.  The teacher will be working with the high school English department to offer a 7th and 8th grade media skills class, serving as a reading interventionist for high school students, and serving as a media specialist to assist teachers and students in the Media Center.

Compensation:

This position is a 9-month position, 180 Contracted Days 8:00-3:45.  Nevis School District has competitive salaries and benefits for its staff members.  The salary range for this position is $48,776 – $78,574.  Salary and benefits are based on current master agreement salary schedule.

Required Experience:

·         Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Tier 3 or 4 MN license as Elementary Teacher, English Teacher, or Media Specialist. 

·         Exhibit a growth mindset.

·         Ability to work with a diverse student population.
