Position Overview Hayfield Community Schools is seeking a full-time High School American History Teacher for the 2026?2027 school year and beyond. This position includes teaching American History courses at the senior high level, with potential opportunities to support junior high social studies instruction. The ideal candidate is passionate about history, civic engagement, and helping students develop critical thinking skills while connecting historical events to current issues and real-world contexts. Teaching Responsibilities Teach American History and related social studies courses, which may include: U.S. History / World History Government/Civics Economics Psychology and Sociology Junior High Social Studies (as needed) Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Minnesota state standards Foster critical thinking, historical analysis, and discussion-based learning Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback Encourage student understanding of civic responsibility and participation Incorporate primary sources, technology, and diverse perspectives into instruction Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success Coaching Positions Available Various coaching positions are available if interested.
