The Innovation Hub (I-Hub) Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting students, staff, and community members in developing 21st-century learning and technology skills. This position is central to advancing a student-centered, innovative learning environment that emphasizes creativity, problem solving, and real-world application of skills.
The I-Hub Facilitator serves as a mentor, instructional partner, and technical resource for both students and staff. This includes supporting classroom integration of technology, troubleshooting devices and systems, and facilitating hands-on learning experiences within the Innovation Hub. A key component of this role includes designing and facilitating student learning in digital media and video production, empowering students to create, communicate, and showcase their learning through multimedia storytelling.
This initiative represents the first public school Innovation Hub in the United States, developed through a collaborative partnership between JAMF and MATTER. The I-Hub provides students, especially those with limited access to technology, with opportunities to develop critical skills for their future success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide daily support for students, staff, and community members utilizing the Innovation Hub, ensuring a welcoming, student-centered environment.
- Serve as the primary technical lead for I-Hub technologies, including devices, software, and network systems.
- Troubleshoot technical issues while guiding users toward developing their own understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Support and promote Apple learning initiatives, including Apple Teacher, Apple Classroom, Apple Schoolwork, Everyone Can Code, and Everyone Can Create.
- Maintain a visible, approachable presence in the I-Hub, serving as a mentor and resource for all users.
- Develop working knowledge of school systems, including attendance and grading platforms, to better support staff and students.
- Manage inventory, device deployment, and device management systems for the I-Hub.
- Maintain ongoing communication with school leadership, staff, and external partners, including the MATTER team.
- Support community access and use of the Innovation Hub as appropriate.
- Serve as the on-site coordinator for the continued growth of the I-Hub program, including expansion of technology, programming, and professional learning.
- Facilitate daily Innovation Hub learning experiences for middle school students (Grades 6–8), emphasizing creativity, collaboration, and inquiry-based learning.
- Design and facilitate a video production and digital media learning experience, including instruction in filming, editing, storytelling, and multimedia design.
- Support student-led media projects, including school communications, announcements, and storytelling that highlight student voice and school initiatives.
- Manage and maintain video production equipment and support the use of industry-standard editing tools (e.g., iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere or similar platforms).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Technical Skills: Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively. Knowledge of current operating systems, educational technology tools, and digital media/video production equipment and software is preferred.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English required. Proficiency in Spanish, K''iche, and/or Mam is highly valued.
- Inquisitiveness: Displays curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies and instructional strategies. Acts as a change agent focused on student success.
- Analytical Thinking: Researches and learns new technologies independently to solve problems and improve practice.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves issues efficiently while fostering these skills in students and staff.

Salary and Benefits:
Competitive salary and benefits package. For more information, please see the SJPS Master Agreement 2025-2027. Salary range listed ($45,023-$86,948) is based on the current collective bargaining agreement that is effective through the 2026-2027 school year.
