Primary schedule will be weekends, Friday through Sunday. Reports to: Head Custodian Department: Custodial Works with: Teachers, students, parents Job Summary: The Custodian performs general cleaning, occasional maintenance, sets up and takes down equipment for events. Duties/Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Creates and/limits access to assigned areas, includes opening and locking up facilities for events. Cleans, sets up, tears down assigned area. Floors-vacuums, sweeps, mops, and/or scrubs. Bathrooms-clean as assigned. Cleans entire space as assigned. Empty garbage and recycling. Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs. Maintains safety and cleanliness throughout the shift. Fix/repair school property as needed. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum HS diploma required Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with school personnel, students, parents and members of the community. Strong organizational and planning skills. Physical Job Requirements: Employee is continuously required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, talk, and hear; frequently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches, reach with hands and arms in the performance of the job. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. The duties listed above are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.
